OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner, Large, Clear the Salad Spinner Extraordinaire!

The OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner, Large is the best, biggest and funnest salad spinner ever!

It is truly the largest capacity salad spinner I could find and I probably spent a couple of hours over a period of days searching for the right spinner for our family.  My husband and I make green smoothies every day and eat some combination of greens daily so finding the right one was a big deal.

I tried the Xtraordinary Home Products Large Salad Spinner, White, notice how the description says LARGE, its not.  It's about 8" in diameter and could probably spin greens for a small dinner salad for one person.  So back to Amazon it went.

Enter OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner which totally fit the bill.

It's very nice looking.  The outer container could easily serve as a serving bowl, but we don't use it for that.  The top is easily detachable for cleaning.  We rinse after each spinning and towel dry.  Don't put it in the dishwasher, you'll make it all cloudy and ugly.  I've also used this salad spinner to spin the water off of pasta when I'm making a cold pasta salad.  Of course I cool the pasta first with cold water.

I think its fun to pump the spinner!  Ha!  You pump a few times and then it spins like crazy, like maybe for an additional 15-20 seconds.  And it takes all of the water off the leaves.  Check it out!

We use this badboy at least two-three times a day and it's showing no sign of wear and tear.  We received it April 1st and this is June 21st, I took the video and photos today so figure we've used this handy kitchen tool conservatively 180 times and its still going strong.

Bottom line, LOVE this huge OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner, Large, Clear the Salad Spinner, it is awesome!  And yes, that's a Vitamix in the background, I'll get around to reviewing it as well.

Wacom Intuos Pen Small Tablet (CTL480) is Awesome!

I absolutely LOVE my new Wacon Intuos Pen Small Tablet (CTL480).  I'm a graphic design student and I'd just learned how to use the tablet with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.  It's so cool!  I like that I can use it on a PC and a Mac.  It's easy to use for both the novice and more experienced user.  My son is a cartoonist and uses the same tablet that I just bought!

I purchased the tablet through my Amazon Prime membership and I usually volunteer to answer buyers' questions about the products I've purchased.  On this particular product one of the most common questions was "what's the difference between the CTL480 and the CTH480".  Basically the difference is only that the CTH480 includes both pen and TOUCH functionality and the CTL480 is only a pen.  I've never missed not having the touch feature, so if the CTH480 is more expensive and you want to save money, the CTL480 is still a great buy.

Other questions asked:

1. Where are the extra nib tips they promised me!

So I was all ready to make a special trip back to Best Buy because the extra tips that should have been included with the tablet were not there. They ARE! They just hide them. They're located on the underside of the compartment that houses the blue Wacom tag! So silly, why don't they tell you that?

2. The driver CD that was included didn't work and I can't find it anywhere!
Well you're right about that crappy driver CD that shipped with the tablet. It failed for me too. But you CAN get the drivers for this from the Wacom website. A quick download and it was up and running in a few minutes. It is admittedly hard to find the drivers with Wacom's poor site navigation. However it's easy to find if you google "wacom drivers" in which case it is the top hit.

3. Is it true there's no eraser?
I've been using the Wacom tablet for 1 year - as a graphic design student.  Anyway, I've never once had the slightest urge or need to use the eraser they put on the back of the pen. If you're a savvy user of your favorite graphics software, you are already switching among MANY short cut tools with your "other" hand. Just add "E" for an eraser shortcut and you're all set.

But I love it! Its just like using the expensive ones at school only smaller work surface. But the size of the tablet is not a deterrent in terms of being able to use the device with style and flair.

So yes, I recommend it and the price is right!  Of course the best price is usually on Amazon.
